About Danielle
I am a General Engineering graduate and Engineer in Training passionate about product development, manufacturing, and human-centered design. I enjoy taking ideas from concept to reality through CAD, engineering analysis, prototyping, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
Through projects ranging from planetary rovers and assistive devices to entrepreneurial product development, I've developed an appreciation for engineering solutions that balance technical performance with the needs of the people using them.

How I Approach Engineering
I approach engineering as an iterative process that combines technical analysis with an understanding of users, manufacturing constraints, and business needs. Whether I am selecting components, developing a CAD assembly, or testing a product concept, I focus on making decisions that are supported by evidence and clearly communicated.
Develop solutions around a clear problem and user need.
Design with Purpose
Use calculations, modeling, and testing to guide decisions.

Collaborate Across Disciplines
My interest in engineering began in high school through FIRST Robotics and SkillsUSA, where I developed foundational skills in CAD, technical design, fabrication, and teamwork. Competing in SkillsUSA, I earned 2nd place in Technical Design at the California state competition, an experience that strengthened my passion for engineering and problem-solving.
At Cal Poly, I explored a broad range of engineering disciplines through coursework and projects spanning mechanical design, biomedical engineering, manufacturing, entrepreneurship, and product development. Beyond the classroom, I served as Project Manager for Poly1Rover, leading a multidisciplinary team of more than 40 students while contributing to the development of an autonomous planetary rover.
Background
Outside of engineering, I value opportunities to build community and create inclusive environments. As a Week of Welcome (WOW) Orientation Leader for Cal Poly's Cross Cultural Experience (CCE), I mentored incoming students from diverse backgrounds as they transitioned to life at a predominantly white institution. Through this role, I helped foster a welcoming community, facilitated discussions, and connected students with campus resources.
I also performed in Cal Poly's Pilipino Cultural Exchange (PCE), where I celebrated Filipino culture through dance and collaboration. Alongside singing, dancing, and acting for PCE, I was also one of three Membership Coordinators where I welcomed incoming members by pairing them with an older member, created and hosted bonding events, and helped foster a warm environment for all members. Together, these experiences strengthened my leadership, communication, and ability to work effectively with people from a wide range of backgrounds.
I enjoy creative hobbies such as crocheting, custom nail design, and illustration with alcohol markers. Working at Michaels Arts & Crafts as an Events Coordinator further nurtured my appreciation for creativity and problem solving while strengthening my customer service and communication skills.

I am currently seeking full-time opportunities in mechanical engineering, product development, and manufacturing engineering. I am especially interested in roles where I can contribute to hands-on product development, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and continue growing in design, analysis, and manufacturing.
